1st Period Project
ICTs are the things that make us able to interact with the digital world. ICTs can help us and be used in the different areas of our daily life, but now I’m going to focus on the uses of the ICTs in education.
Examples of where we use the ICTs in the education:
1. Smart phones: The fact that this device can be moved easily and that it has internet access is one of the reasons why it’s beginning to be very indispensable in the students life, that even those devices are overtaking the computers. The smart phones have a lot of uses, from searching to communicating with your classmates.
2. Computers: A benefit that most of the schools have is the computers, which are very helpful for all the students for, making investigations, homework and for communication, and even the computers of the school (or personal computers) are very helpful for the teachers, because they need them to prepare the classes.
3. Projector: With this the teachers make and prepare the classes in order to make them: more interesting, more interactive and to catch the attention of the students. With the projector, they explain a topic and make presentations is easily.
4. iPad: This can be very useful in the school, because it isn’t that small nor big which is why it’s easier to transport. In it you can do research and also communicate with other people. Also the iPads have a lot of space to save all your school stuff.
5. Digital books: Nowadays this is a very typical thing, most of the schools all over the world now are using this system for the books. Some of the benefits of this is that the kids aren’t able to lose their books anymore and working on this is faster than with a paper book.
6. Blackboard: This platform has a lot of uses: the teachers can upload everything that they want so all their students can see that, you can make schedules, send messages to other students of teachers. A lot of schools now use this.
7. Dropbox: This is kind of the same as “Blackboard”, but this one is specialized in the upload and download of documents, there are multiple folders so everything is organized and on the correct place this makes the process of finding something in special easier.
8. Different search engines: Some examples of this are Google and Bing, everyone in school use the search engines everyday, the objetive of the search engines is to help us investigate everything that we need, this really accelerates the process of doing homework and works.
In conclusion ICTs are very useful in school, actually everywhere, it helps the people do their work faster and way better. But the things are not always just good and if you don’t use the ICTs in a correct way you can get harmed.
